Inspired by the music of the block party breaks of 1970s New York, the Bboys and Bgirls and a love of rare groove. These instrumentals are a fusion of Funk, Latin, Soul and Soundtrack grooves, and of course they all contain some kind of break part - ready for the merry-go-round! The LP title is a nod in the direction of the Sammy Gordon track Upstairs on Boston Road. Baker Street is where my man Shelley Mack of The Shelley Mack Band lives, it's where we make Bboy/Bgirl practise mixes, record music and practise our breakin'.
